A Typical Day On Camp

Balancing learning and fun in days full of English!

Whether your child is attending our Fun in English or Make It Happen course, their day will be structured in the same way. Running from Monday to Friday over one or two weeks, our timetable offers two language sessions and two activity sessions per day, with a morning and afternoon break, and an hour for lunch. In addition, through the week, there are several all-camp activities, and each camp ends in a Final Performance in front of an invited audience of family and friends. A single theme runs through the entire course, with different topics chosen to structure each day's learning.

Time Activity Description
0900-0930 Registration A session with the same registration teacher each morning. Students start the day by playing language games, revising English from the previous day or preparing for the performance at the end of camp.
0900-1045 Lesson A communication-based lesson introducing new vocabulary through games, songs and tailor made worksheets.
1045-1115 Break As well as being fully-supervised by English Experience staff this is an opportunity for the students to interact informally with the native English speaking staff.
1115-1230 Lesson A reading and writing lesson allowing the students to put new language into context and reproduce it.
1230-1330 Lunch A packed lunch enjoyed under the supervision of English Experience staff.
1330-1445 Drama Role play session using the topics studied in the morning, giving the students a further opportunity to explore what they have learnt.
1445-1515 Break
1515-1630 Sport Rounders – a traditional English sport. A chance for students to relax and use their English in a different environment.

1115-1230 Lesson A lesson that continues to build upon the students earlier lesson and builds vocabulary and promotes the development of the project idea.
1230-1330 Lunch A packed lunch enjoyed under the supervision of English Experience staff.
1330-1445 Project Work A session based specifically on the project. Allowing students to develop on the ideas and language that they have learnt in class whilst working towards their end piece.
1445-1515 Break
1515-1630 Activity A chance for students to relax and use their English in a different environment whilst working on other elements of their project.
