Work on an English Experience Camp - opportunities for 2024!
We are very much looking to the future and planning our courses for summer 2024. If you are interested in working for us, please read the information below and get in touch using the email address provided.
When we are recruiting team members we are looking for well-qualified and enthusiastic people to work on our English Camps abroad – mostly in Italy and Slovenia, but also in Germany and France. Normally based in local schools, these English-language holiday courses (tailored for ages 7 to 14, and 13 to 18) run from Monday to Friday over one or two weeks, generally at the beginning or end of the European school summer holidays. Our full-immersion, fun approach to learning focuses on giving every child a chance to get involved, and integrates structured classroom sessions with sports activities and art and drama workshops. So for each camp – managed by a senior team member who has worked with us before – we need to recruit both EFL teachers and activity leaders who have experience of working with children.
A rewarding opportunity to develop EFL skills abroad
Camps are well organised, offer great opportunities for professional development, and are good fun to be a part of (our retention rates are currently over 60 per cent!). We offer the following benefits:
- competitive rates of pay
- travel to and from the camp, from a UK airport (or from a location abroad)
- full-board accommodation with a friendly host family
- evenings and weekends free: all planning done in working hours
- bespoke resources and a like-minded, encouraging team
- support throughout, both from the UK office and a camp coordinator
- the opportunity for returners to be promoted to a coordinator role
- possibility of working back-to-back camps depending on your availability
- a great experience that could be put towards building a career in EFL
What we need you to offer us
- enthusiasm and experience of working with children
- teachers: qualifications to teach English as a foreign language
- activity leaders: relevant experience working with children
- to be available for one or two weeks either in June, July, August or September
- the capability to be in sole charge of groups of up to 17 students
- willingness to work as part of a mixed team of teachers and activity leaders
- willingness to help organise all-camp activities and the final performance
